Haryana making effort to link Faridabad with Metro

Chandigarh, Nov 15: The Haryana government is making concerted efforts to get Faridabad connected with Delhi Metro Rail services by the year 2010 after getting it extended till Gurgaon.

Chief Secretary, Prem Prashant told reporters here today. He said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be inked on November 17 in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for connecting Gurgaon to Delhi through the Metro rail. He said that the facility of metro would be available from Delhi border to IFFCO Chowk, Gurgaon.

A target has been set up for extending the metro facility to Gurgaon by the year 2009, he added.

Prashant said that there was another project to connect Faridabad with metro rail after 2010 as it came under the second phase while Gurgaon would be covered under the first phase. He said that state government was making efforts to bring Faridabad project in first phase so that it could also get the metro facilities along with Gurgaon.
