Faridabad- A view from Real Estate Developer's eyes
Faridabad a major industrial city and population center in Haryana state, northern India. It is located in Faridabad District. The city was founded in 1607 by Shaikh Farid, treasurer of Jahangir, with the object of protecting the highway which passed through the town. Shaikh Farid built a fort, a tank and a mosque which are in ruins. Later, it becomes the headquarters of a pargana which was held in jagir by the Ballabgarh ruler. Faridabad became 12th district of Haryana State on 15th August, 1979.

Faridabad has seen Gurgaon and Noida speed ahead in development with lot of multinational companies setting up there.
Faridabad City itself is a plain bordered by the River Yamuna to the east and Aravalli Hills towards the west and south West. Being in close proximity to the Yamuna the land east of the National Highway is better in quality than the western side. Today virtually all of the land has been filled up with residential housing as the population of the city swelled during the mid 90s. The rapid growth of the city also brought immigrants to the city from other parts of the country. People from UP, villages in and around Faridabad, Rajasthan, Bihar and some from Bengal swelled the population size. People of Faridabad are very modern owing to an industrialized economy. The touch of Delhi can be seen very easily in the lifestyle of people of Faridabad. Haryana Government has decided to go ahead with the setting up of new Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Faridabad and Rohtak. These townships will be built on the pattern of Manesar near Gurgaon. Based on the global model for an industrial hub, these townships will integrate industrial, commercial, residential and institutional sites for operational convenience and promoting walk-to-work-culture.
Though the state government had announced the proposal during the last Assembly session, the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has given the project a formal shape that will help the state showcase its industrial infrastructure, at least on paper for the moment, to foreign investors wooed by state Chief Minister Bhuinder Singh Hooda during his just-concluded foreign tour.
The industrial township at Faridabad will be developed in Sectors 66, 67, 68 and 69 of the Final Development Plan of Faridabad. Here land measuring 1832 acres has been notified for acquisition under Section 4 of Land Acquisition Act.
Faridabad as one of the most important Delhi Metropolitan area towns that needs to the planned and developed to check the inflow of migrants to the National Capital. In the Final Development Plan of Faridabad -Ballabhgarh Complex Sectors 68 and 69 have been designated as the industrial sectors and Sectors 66 and 67 had been marked for warehousing, transport and communications.
